Powers & Abilities How many times did Zoro use armament

#25
If that’s the case how come it’s differentiated in moments like these

While armament haki (specifically emissions) is probably necessary for any swordsman to be able to cut iron, steel, diamond, etc. it likely depends on the swordsman’s overall strength and haki release

Like pre timeskip zoro with haki learned to cut iron but still couldn’t cut steel. Through growing stronger during the timeskip he can casually cut steel now but probably couldn’t cut diamond. Assuming he can’t now after learning to cut kaido he’ll eventually grow strong enough to cut diamond too
I don't know about the pacifistas, but with Sanji the underwater walls might have been seastone..

It's hard to believe that Daz Bones Blades are not Steel.. Do you have evidence of Zoro not being able to cut steel?.. The pacifistas may have been from a material stronger than steel just like Franky's wapo metal.. Well at least Zoro could cut steel with Ashura.. But maybe not with base CoA imbued Blade..

Each sword was 600kg
That doesn’t mean much when we don’t know what they’re made of
It also doesn’t change the fact
  1. Daz is apparently made of iron
    • Which makes sense with all the times zoro couldn’t cut iron beforehand
  2. Zoro couldn’t cut the steel walls in enies lobby
  3. Zoro cut the steel of the pacifista

Dumbo did u read when zoro said he cant bring ryou after beating daz?
Zoro was cutting canons and breaking 600kg iron swords pre daz

In both cases sanji refers to them as being made of some type of steel. With zoro on top of that emphasizing that he can’t cut them because they’re tougher than iron

As for zoro cutting the pacifista steel with asura idk tbh. He definitely damaged it but we don’t see any actual cuts to the metal even after it’s defeated
On daz it just all translates to iron in the raws. He even has a move called iron guard
Also remember zoro not being able to cut iron was a big deal pre alabasta. It was was only after daz that he could cut iron such as the iron cloud and cannonballs

I could be wrong but I doubt zoro needed haki to cut the iron cloud or body technique. I don’t really remember anyone else going up against the iron cloud but the strawhats we’re getting all getting through iron body pretty easily
Tho I do think he was probably using armament every time he used shishisonson. Probably the same with rashamon which is just the upgraded version of the attack. Everything else idk
Only Ohm was seen using the iron cloud as far as I remember, so Zoro was the only one to face it. But, out of the strawhats who faced the CP9, only Luffy (who was able to break iron since the East Blue Saga*), Zoro (was able to cut steel already) and Franky (who was himself made of metal) could do significant damage with regular attacks. Sanji needed Diable Jambe to defeat Jabra, Chopper needed his Monster Form to beat Kumadori and Nami used electricity to beat Kalifa.

I also guess that with blunt force it's easier to damage iron, depending on the attacker's strength. In the case of iron bodies/durability techniques, you just need to be strong enough to do enough damage. As for slashes, I'm not sure, it seems that you need haki in some degree.

* Krieg's armor and Arlong's teeth.

East blue luffy being able to damage steel to a certain degree is pretty insane the more you think about it. Also he broke this guys steel armor

We know for a fact zoro learned to cut alabasta. That being the whole point of the daz fight

Franky is straight up made of iron so yeah he he definitely can

As for sanji he was breaking through jabras iron body like it was butter without dj. Tbh I don’t specifically remember times where he had to face hard substances before enies lobby but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was able to dent iron earlier on. Tbh Mr. 2 might have been able to do so in alabasta and if he’s capable of it so should sanji
Plus blunt damage is just more effective and easier than cutting tbh

I could 100% be wrong but couldn’t arm point dent iron?

Sanji was able to hurt Jabra with tekkai, but definitely not consistently IMO. In most exchanges pre-DJ (or all exchanges including tekkai kenpo), Jabra was getting the upper hand and could hold his own pretty well with his tekkai. There was only one instance where he needed to dodge, and it was against a seemingly powerful technique (Brochette, which is a confirmed finisher*). Kaku on the other hand had to dodge or use other techniques to avoid direct damage in his battle against Zoro (Kaku even notices the danger and directly comments about this in chapter #416).

Shishi Sonson looks like a 100% ryou technique...

Chopper's Kokutei Roseo Metel (which is probably his strongest non-Monster Point attack) did inflict some relevant damage to Kumadori's tekkai, but it was by far the most powerful techinique he had shown in the series at the time.

* Chapter 362, vs. CP6's Jerry.

Interesting.. So they specified steel when it comes to Luffy defeating the big guy from the Franky Family, which was his first Gear 2 technique by the way.. Then what Zoro cuts is somehow not steel but an iron canon.. Anyway, for Luffy doesn't it sort of confirm that Pacifista are harder material than steel since Luffy use a Gear 3 Rifle to finish a pacifista and Gear 3 is more powerful than Gear 2 as stated by Doflamingo in Dressrosa..

That Canon looks like it's made of steel, but when it comes to Zoro, it's always the Iron reference.. I think overall Iron made objects are not very shiny and mostly dark black, and every shiny objects when Iron is mentioned is still Steel.. It's just when it comes to Zoro and Swordsmanship Oda focuses on Iron because Steel is made almost entirely of Iron..

Jabra acknowledged sanji’s first attack being able to overwhelm him through his tekkai. Similar situation to queen where they downplay how much the damage they’ve taking as if it was nothing despite reality being otherwise. Also if overall strength defines how strong your tekkai is jabra’s should be 3rd or even 2nd in cp9 due to being a master in it. Remember franky couldn’t even hurt Lucci with the same attack fucking fukuro up. There’s also Mr. 2 who might’ve been able to dent it back in alabasta also there’s straight up no way franky has better ap than sanji

Yeah zoro was obviously able to cut iron by the time he fought kaku. That being way after he fought daz and learned how

Whopper hype
:finally:

That was just the base version he uses the g2 version for the first time against the pacifista in the monster trio combo attack. As for why they don’t destroy the metal then? It could be because of the thickness, it could be because oda is oda, idk
Either way luffy was damaging steel not just pre timeskip but pre grandline in the east blue regardless

If the cannon was made of steel it’d probably be highlighted. Also daz bones is shiney and made out of iron. Oda went out of his way to clarify Bentham’s swan shoe beaks were made of steel. He also went out of his way to keep repeating that Daz was made of iron
Idk if I’m wrong I’m wrong that’s fine but I feel like it’s on you to prove that zoro was capable of cutting steel pre timeskip and not just stone and iron

Actually you're right, there's the gomu gomu Canon and gomu gomu Jet Canon.. So it's just an attack that builds kinetic energy or something.. If we're talking of strictly power level i think with how Luffy got a big chunk of steel of the guy's armor, a Gomu Gomu Canon should be stronger than a Base Jet Pistol?..

Going by the colors, the canon is definitely Iron.. However also going by the colors, Daz Bones blades really look shiny silver so they must be steel.. As i say, and i'm ok being wrong on this too, when it comes to Haki Swordsmanship, Steel and Iron are the same difficulty to cut because Steel is made of 97% Iron.. While there's is a distinction when it's blunt damage like Luffy, that's my stance.. By the way that Daz Bones attack there's no mention of Iron in his attack..

Maybe idk tbh
It wouldn’t surprise me too much tho

Idk the raws all translate to iron when it comes to daz. Even the title is iron
“CHAPTER: 194 JAPANESE TITLE: 鉄を斬る ROMANIZED TITLE: Tetsu o Kiru”
It all translates to “Cut the iron” or “cut iron”

Also
The chapter's title is absolutely correct.. But the attack is weird.. The Kanji read '' New body '' and the katakana read another word which is taken from the english '' Spaida '', meaning '' spider ''.. So i don't know how they translated that to Iron Guard, but yeah..
