Such as Kaido's title of WSC is because of his body being immune to damage. However once Oda introduce CoC coating, the ability to damage him. His title of WSC became moot when Luffy finally defeated him and Luffy didn't get the title after.

Whitebeard title of WSM is because he has the ability to destroy the world and is one that knows the One Piece is.
Even after his death, Blackbeard didn't get the title after getting his fruit..
