Questions & Mysteries What will change once it's revealed that Kizaru fed Luffy?

What changes? Yes you can say Kizaru won round 1, but do people genuinely think that this one round showed the highest amount of output Luffy is capable of? A single named attack, two notable instances of unnecessary damage in the form of the laser barrier and protecting Vegapunk, and 2 chapters of G5 shows that's all Luffy is capable of?

This is one of the those cases where one guy technically won the fight, but I think the other guy is overall stronger when I factor in his other performances. Luffy's next use of G5 lasted a lot longer, he used multiple named attacks, flattened Kizaru and Saturn, fended off the Gorosei etc, so there's no way I'm going to say Kizaru is above Luffy based off a single round with so many asterisks attached to it.
Most of the asterisks in this fight are in support of Kizaru's performance tho...

He was not in it emotionally and was dealing with internal struggles. He was constantly distracted by the need to pursue his mission. He was explicitely told to not cause damage to the facilities.

So despite Kizaru going into the fight with flimsy conviction, with his destructive power and attack scale restrained by the needs of his mission and with said mission being the priority leading to him not keeping his focus on Luffy and giving up on opportunities to press him, he still overwhelmed Snakeman and fought off G5 until its stamina limit (by Luffy's own admission).

The one attack Luffy managed to cleanly land before running out wasn't even enough to secure him a draw since Kizaru was up and blitzing everyone around moments later. Heck by the end of the arc, he is shown with no lasting injuries and clearly more concerned about the death of his friend than anything else.

Cause I don’t think that’s what Oda intends with him, because of the scene with Sakazuki. That ends with

a) Kizaru showing real, genuine emotion- not just emotion, fury- for the first time in the entire series, at the mere suggestion that Kizaru had botched things

b) Sakazuki actually apologising- again a first

That scene was meant to make us think Kizaru genuinely did all he could despite the emotional toll. Him killing Vegapunk, trying to chop Kuma and Bonney in half and lasering her at point blank pointed to a man who had made up his mind. Sakazuki actually says sorry, that’s unheard of.

But now we have thrown in this rubbish, half arsed attempt to, honestly, I don’t even know. He did the least bit possible to try and help some of them, then tried to kill them anyway. Feeding Luffy wouldn’t even have saved Bonney, he wasn’t ready until quite a bit after Kuma arrived.

Kizaru is just so half assed and I don’t find it at all interesting or well written, I just think it’s a poor man’s version of the other conflicts between duty and the Marines that Oda has written for other characters. Particularly Kuzan and Ohara
He flip flopped hard with Kizaru

Even without this confirmatiom that he gave food he was moments away from killing bonney and kuma

It's not even unclear justice he never made an attempt to stop his friends being killed he was just going for the kill

He already did, but this was when shit hit the fan and Saturn was on the island.

There was no option except blatantly disregarding orders
