What was the last movie you watched?

Alien: Romulus
The good:
- I liked the suspense
- once the action starts there's always something going on and it doesn't stop till the final scene
- the Aliens look practical most of the time which is a big big plus
- I like the design of the final boss

The bad:
- it takes a while to get going
- the set up doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things and the actual meat lf the movie could do without it
- not enough Xenomorph action for my taste
- too small a cast which means not enough deaths

Overall, lretty strong for an Alien movie but not that great as a horror
I really found it a solid third alien movie.
Generally better than what we are used to.
I also liked that characters were not completely stupid but made not-stupid or at least understandable choices, i.e. the plot moved forward due to necessity nor stupidity.
Liked most of action scenes, and also the controversial
CGI android
I really liked.

Oh could not bear Deadpool movie, really cannot understand how people enjoy this, and I mean this seriously. Continuous quip, breaking the fourth wall, making jokes about the multiverse and marvel despite being itself a multiverse and a marvel movie. And no, saying fuck and shit doesn't make it funny, otherwise Adam Sandler would be the funniest man alive.

I liked the first Deadpool movie. And by liked I mean just that - liked. Nothing more, nothing less.
I don't even remember the second one and have no desire to watch the third one any time soon even though Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine (I have seen virtually every Wolverine/X Men movie with him).
Ryan Reynolds just kinda doesn't do it for me.

I think its a good time pass movie but its also is very forgettable for most part and lacks depth.

"Joker: Folie à Deux" (2024)- 4/5

I am 100% in the minority here but I loved this film and the bold swing they took with it. Not all of it worked but the majority of it did for me. that's probably a very hot take though.
The film is a musical so please keep that in mind as musicals are not for everyone.
I didn't mind the ending, it was tragic and made sense, the cartoon at the beginning of the film is important as it literally spells out what the film is

The Wild Robot.

10/10.

Visually magnificent with amazing animation, beautiful music and breathtaking visuals. The story isn't that complex and there are lots of cliché but it suits the movie just fine and the film is just that beautiful and heartwarming.

One of the best animated movies I have seen in this decade, and one of Dreamworks' best, amazing job Chris Sanders.

I really want to see this soon after watching the trailers but even my local quiet cinema is getting too many people atm. Doesnt help its school holidays soon too, bah!

Gonna have to wait until I can rent it online or for it to go much quieter at the cinema instead. Looks like an AMAZING film though, much better than I anticipated! Veru glad to hear its as magnificent as it looks from the trailers!

The first movie of Bayformers.

A landmark achievement of CGI and giant robot action that was the catalyst for placing Transformers directly on the map of the entertainmen industry.

The Fight Machine (2022)
What an absolutely breathtaking movie. Some violence though.
Edit: It's a movie that subverts the genre of the boxing movie. A stark reminder to all the viewers that a punch that lands can lead to devastating injuries.

"Is it really worth experiencing the thrill of the fight firsthand to understand what it means to be a man?"

Wish i had read this post earlier, i had a perfect situation to watch it but not knowing about it we changed our plan and did something else.

Opted to watch Venom 3 the next day, which is good one time watch but not much to say about.

Saw the apprentice, about Trump

nice movie, nothing huge but it was nice

Roy Cohn actor was great

Smile 2 - 7/10 - Wow, I really didn't expect a sequel to be better than its predecessor, especially when we're talking about horror movies.

Venom 3 - 2/10 - Pretty bad, not even worth a guilty pleasure.

Transformers One - 9/10 - Megatron's villain writing was just amazing, might give it a re-watch.

I think this year was pretty good for horror, so many good films, like Substance, Smile, Longlegs, Terrifier 3, Strange Darling, Oddity, Cuckoo, Late Night with the Devil. And they are all different kinds of horror.

I've stopped watching horror movies, as they are not scary/good enough. If i can watch one or two of these, which one would you recommend to watch.
