General & Others Have you noticed that we give certain concessions to some characters but not others? Now I want to defend Luffy.

Why is it every single time that Kizaru is on and he doesn’t perform the way that we anticipated him to, we by default say he wasn’t serious? People said it in Marinefored and in Egghead.

However when Luffy doesn’t stupid shit we never give the same concession. For example, in Egghead Luffy clearly wasn’t serious. Luffy literally grabbed Kizaru and threw him, that was stupid and Luffy never throws anyone really. That’s not serious Luffy. Luffy didn’t uses ACoC frequently , also not a serious Luffy.

We literally saw a serious Luffy the arc before vs. Kaido and people act like they forgot. We know what Luffy was capable of because he showed it in Wano and didn’t in Egghead.

I’m all for people taking shit about Luffy when he has situations like with Appo. However, the bias with this Kizaru scenario is getting out of hand and exposing the admiral and anti Luffy agenda (which is just the bitter Zoro fans).

It's all agenda

Admirals are never serious even when they are not holding back really
Admirals can be excused when they perform bad cause they're conflicted

But Luffy and some can't be excited when they're Goofy or casual or conflicted

Luffy was clearly serious in Egghead stated by Luffy himself and he literally got depressed because he believed he failed. That’s how serious he was in egghead.

Luffy didn’t use ACoC frequently cause he was having issues tagging Kizaru, what’s the point of wasting energy and haki by using ACoC when your blows were being easily blocked or dodged? Waste energy faster?

Egghead we got literal confirmation that Kizaru was holding back due to mental hesitation. It’s over. Luffys weaker than the admirals canonically.

Because Luffy is genuinely a waste of space. Cracker biscuit already exposed this fraud back in wedding cake island but we didn't see it.
Fights for five minutes
Gets clubbed
Eats fifteen gallons of food
Comes back. Cycle repeats itself

Blame oda for making Luffy a clown. He literally can't do any damage in gear fifth

Because for some reason people would rather slander the mc and doubt him than realize how strong he is
This is what agendas do to people.
Luffy himself said he failed on egghead. There was no big narration celebration either by luffy nor the narrator (not even by big meme news morgans) that Luffy defeated an admiral. We know from reading Egghead Kizaru was not only holding back but even actively try to sabotage his mission wavering till the last moment.
How is that agenda?

@DonWick makes even the dumb point about "ehm actually Luffy never grabs and throws people aways this means he was not serious!" You admitted yourself to me yesterday how dumb that sounds

This is just temple level cope at this point

Luffy really did sandbag, though, this is pretty obvious looking at his fights on Egghead
For some reason Oda just.. Never had him use ACoA or ACoC. He literally only used ACoA once against Kizaru in Snakeman then never again. If he used Advanced Haki it'd have been a totally different story.

Again we talked about this too. Thats just a consistent issue with oda drawing and clarification that happens since wano (or arguably since dressrosa) around haki
Are you betting your account with me that the gorosei have no acoc? Did they sandbag too for some mysterious reason or was it just how oda writes? Because 100% they will show that later on when they fight seriously.
As of stands now Kizaru was depicted stronger on Egghead than Luffy. And I'm not gonna take "muhs agenda crying" seriously from someone who mentions in the thread opening how luffy was not serious because he doesn't throw his enemies and makes agenda threads on the weekly.

Warcury used that roar which seemed to have some type of ACoC in it, and also there was a shit ton of plot armor there. If the Gorosei went all out then the Straw Hats would be unbelievably fucked. Hence why only Nusjuro and Saturn showed their Hybrid forms there, and Saturn barely ever using the weird eye head popping and paralysis hax.
Kizaru wasn't depicted stronger, lol, the entire point is that neither could be depicted stronger. Oda didn't want to make Kizaru look like a chump but he also didn't want Luffy to either. Hence why Kizaru was mentally nerfed, while Luffy wasn't using Advanced Haki on him. That way both can be excused for any shortcomings in the fight.

How is someone not clearly stronger who blitzes his enemy so hard he doesn't even know he was there feeding him
Also coming back to this post when Kizaru fights next time:willight:

This paragraph encapsulates the bipolar characterization and portrayal Oda did in Egghead.

You can't have your MC state that he is always serious when fighting, proceed to have him use an unserious fighting mode and turn his oponents into pizzas, and then have the person he needed to protect be murdered in front of him without repercussions. Only for Luffy to react to the death in a gag way... which is later discarded and he was actually depressed.

I would like to be optimistic and say Oda is planning some great character moments for Luffy down the line where he overcomes Nika's influence and makes the Freedom Mode complete - where he is completely in charge of his powers and emotions. But I won't hold my breath.

I don't think Luffy was even focused on that lol. We didn't even see him going to feed Luffy and we're already assuming things about how it went down.
Luffy was probably focused on Bonney trying to fight Saturn, after all we literally see him say that he was watching her later on.

Except Luffy was never serious

He literally tells Kizaru his goal isn't to fight him
Even after everything, he never

Luffy never said "I'm always serious when fighting" during Egghead to Kizaru or Saturn.
He never claimed he was going all out like vs Cracker, Doffy, Katakuri, Kaido..

If he was serious, he'd fight to his best and spam named moves + advanced haki

It's not about g5 gags, it's about how Luffy fought
Egghead Luffy isn't the same Luffy we get when he's serious

He said I'm always serious/I always give it my all to Zoro and co before Kizaru even appears. It was either after the fight vs Lucci or the Seraphim
