Bro. The entire point is. The fanbase didn't do all this stripping away prior to this reveal. We've had the Yonkou bounties for like what ? 5 years?
And they were consistently used in arguments as an accurate representation of their power, but now, suddenly, how we perceive bounties has completely changed. That's why I won't buy this.

I know people are doing that just because the FA has a 5B bounty. It's just an attempt to devalue his bounty. This is clear cut portrayal in my eyes.

The reason is due to how marines bounty work. Yonko bounties are given to individuals hence credit is given to them. And even there BM having higher bounty than shanks doesn't makes her stronger than him.

For marines its not given to individuals. There is a certain threshold for someone to become an admiral but it doesn't matter if you are akainu or greenbull , you are getting 3B.

Same for VA's. Even fodder VA's have 500 mil bounty the same which ace had.

Same is the case for FA. It doesn't matter if its akainu or old sengoku or anyone who gets promoted to FA. There bounty will always be 5B. So it gives much more value to the FA position than the holder of the rank.

Oda introduced a faction to the story that gives marines bounties just to give readers a comparison.

And then gave Akainu a 5B bounty.

Do you know how many people put Shanks > BM, despite a higher bounty? And many including myself put Kaido > WB despite the 5B bounty.

There is a correlation between strength and bounty. That correlation is not 1:1. Again, not a hard concept. Your strength is reflected in the bounty, but it's not the only factor.
