If Trump wins, he can only serve for 4 more years. The 22nd Amendment limits a candidate to 8 years(2 terms total or 2 elections) to prevent them from accumulating too much power and becoming a dictatorship. It was created in 1951, 6 years after FDR served 12 years straight.

So 2029 is Trump's limit, unless he continued his trend of changing what's legal or trying to change the constitution to his benefit.

The problem is that people like him want that state of Law to be gone. While he might not change something to get himself more years, he will try to change other things to supress other counter powers.

That's why he is so dangerous.
