We needed to fight the Communist Guerrilas and removed from the gov any politician that supported those. They military did it, but they stayed way too long in power. Anyway, the military regime was one of those periods of economy boom in Brazil thnx to the military administration. It wasn't all flowers and candy, but at least we developed a lot under their administration.

No country ever needed a dictatorship to deal with a guerilla.

I know this first hand as I grew up in such a neighbourhood. It's not an incapability, it's an unwillingness. And I think there are many people who cannot work due to "mental health" who are just telling themselves that because it's a good excuse, rather than the real reason: they're lazy.

It's popular belief that JFK was assassinated by the CIA because he didn't cooperate. JFK refused to bomb Cuba, and was such a hardass towards Israel that he made the Prime Minister at the time step down in June 1963. JFK was also pro-nuclear energy and cracked down on oil lobbyists.

After JFK was popped, oil giants took over, nuclear energy was laughed at, Cuba became more unstable, and the US and Israel suddenly became good friends. People believe it's too much of a coincidence.

I was reading theories and one of them said that it was a misfire from one of JFK's own people and they covered it up.

I agree, AL. I've said it twice before, but one of my best friends has schizophrenia. Difference is, he has like, no energy for anything due to his meds.

I'm talking about people who are terminally online; yet also claim they couldn't work due to no energy. They exist.

Tyranny happened after they refused to make elections happen. The military intervention was legal. Staying in power for decades was not. Sadly, our constitution took the autonomy of our army. Nowadays, such military intervention can only happen if one the three powers calls for it in case of widespread social unrest.

It's either that, or living in the streets.

Multiple journalists arrested for denouncing corruption scandals and criticizing politicians. Legislation is being passed to make it a crime to use harsh words against politicians. Supreme court ripping apart the constitution and interfering in other powers. What else needs to happen to make it clear that Brazil is under an authoritarian regime?
