Kizaruber Eats

THE KIZARUBER EATS, THE KIZARUBER EATS IS REAL!
Awe Robin went back to her original hairstyle in order for Saul to recognize her! They better have a happy reunion!
After how Oda handled Bonney and Kuma, Momo and Hiyori, Kinemon and Tsuru etc I actually have faith in him now too. Also Usopp and Dorry and Broggy too and throwing in Oimo and Kashii too.

Usopp reuniting with Yasopp, Robin with Saul, Luffy with Shanks, and Brook with Laboon are gonna be absolutely tearjerkers, bittersweet moments. I can't wait.
Also all the SHs reuniting with their found family like Zeff, Nojiko, Genzo, Kokoro etc when all this is over.

This is such a great post about Kokoro too:

Rewatching Water 7 arc right now and it's really dawning on me just how well-written Granny Kokoro is. The depth of her story sort of gets overshadowed by the gags associated with her character, and the fact that you have to put some of the pieces together yourself.

Even before you know her story though, she's already one of the greatest side-characters of One Piece, she's a hilarious drunk granny who randomly helps out our crew (sometimes going to extreme lengths to help them) for seemingly random reasons, which already makes her awesome. I mean, she crashes a Sea Train right into Navy headquarters laughing her ass off the whole way there & saying she hadn't had that much fun in years.
However, then you learn about Franky, Iceberg, and Tom's past history and the pieces fall into place if your paying attention to Kokoro too. It turns out Kokoro is lowkey quite a tragic character.

On my 2nd viewing, a scene really stood out to me, Kokoro remorsefully says: "Wait I haven't been drinking my whole life, it's only been 8 years", alluding to the traumatic day when Tom was taken away and Franky was presumed dead after trying to get him back. When you put two and two together, you realize losing a husband and basically an adopted son broke her heart and led her to be a heavy drinker to numb herself to the loss and likely some anger she felt towards the World Government, additionally working at the Sea Train lighthouse to hold onto a small piece of Tom all these years.

Another piece of this is that we actually find out she has real motivations for helping the Straw Hats every step of the way, aside from just being drunk and awesome. She seems to recognize the Straw Hats' potential to give the WG and CP9 a black eye, helping them in the process to get back their crew mate, but also to take a front row seat to watch as they make CP9 fall to their knees and kick the World Government in the balls. You get the sense that she's not even doing it for revenge, but just kind of a 'Fuck You, you ain't gonna win this time' sort of mentality to it all.

In the end, Kokoro doesn't get back everything the WG took from her, but she gets back Franky and more importantly Franky's identity as a Shipwright and Tom's apprentice, watching as Franky and Iceberg work on an awe-inspiring ship together, she gets back more of Tom & his legacy than a lighthouse could ever give her. That's some beautiful writing for a character you may not even have fully noticed your first time watching the arc.
