Emperor Shanks

''Risk your life on it. With that pistol, you will risk your life. This isn't a child's game. Listen, bandits. I can have food or drinks spilled on me, or even be spit at and I'll laugh about it. However, if for any reason you hurt a friend of mine... I won't forgive you!''

Emperor Teach

''Sky island exist. Why the long face nee-chan, those two won that fight. And the tongue lashing you gave them was pretty impressive too. You've got some guts, woman! This New Era they talk about is shit. The age where pirates dream is over!? Eh!? People's Dreams Never End!''

Emperor Buggy

''Guys! What dream drove you out to the sea?! Next thing you know, you could be dead... So isn't your soul screaming?! You cowards who are content with the status quo! Reach out for the thing you want most! You guys got me! Lets go get the One Piece!''

Emperor Luffy

''I don't want to conquer anything. Its just that the man with the most freedom in the seas is the Pirate King!''

LUffy and Blackbeard are both on the first spot,

I think the thing is, Luffy's message includes BlackBeard's, freedom and hope, but Blackbesrd's context is twisted by the darkness around him that he thinks is the only way to follow, I would say I like Luffy's message more than Blackbeard's, right now, but we will see how their story goes, Blackbeard may change, especially if Nika shows himself, and BlackBeard he sees Imu,

When BlackBeard sees Imu, who may actually be darkness, whereas BlackBeard only has some darkness powers, and especially depending on the story of Ds, and Nika, and if Imu is the cause for Blackbeard's suffering as a child, I think he will change,

And even if he doesn't, Imu is probably the cause for his views, because at Marineford he says "There is no answer to right or wrong in this world", and that's true, but only because it is under the night, and ruled by Imu, but the dawn is coming,

What if Blackbeard's ambition and disposition are ancient and go beyond Imu?

Maybe, but he has powers of dsrkness doesn't he? Imu may be dsrkness itself, and if Blackbesrd's goal is the world, Imu has it,I doubt he would recreate the world that harmed him, if he cares about that and if he sees Imu,
Blackbeard's body itself is darkness. He is a Darkness Man. Imu would be presumed a Something Else Man depending on what his Devil Fruit is (if he has one)

I think I'm imposing a position on this. Sorry about that. But since I am, then I may as well elaborate on it.

This creates a degree issue. Blackbeard represents the concept of a Darkness Man, but Imu can represent something like a Satan-Satan Fruit which could mean he commands darkness or something. This complicates the matter.

For now, my position is that Blackbeard has the purest sense of being associated with darkness. He even says the Devil Fruit chose him. That means it's like fate for him to be whatever the Darkness wanted him to be. That's very convincing to me concerning the degree of his association with darkness.
