This is how I view Strong World: Oda wanted to establish Shiki canon, and then use Strong World as a movie to explore other later concepts, like SMILES. Strong World had a strong that affected animals in negative ways, and also destroyed the local populace: this is clearly a SMILE prototype concept, IMO.

So, Shiki DOES has a plan still going on, but it's not the one from Strong World: it's a plan revolving around his original goal, that he wanted to do with Roger, the Ancient Weapons. Edd War IS canon:

Shiki wants the Ancient Weapon that can destroy the world.

Loki wants to bring the world to an end.

Vegapunk stated the Ancient Weapons can destroy the world.

What Ancient Weapon did we just learn the location of, a location that currently has a Cover Series? A location, deep underground, that two Yonkou just got shot down into?

Shiki's goal in Strong World was some random anime movie BS.

Shiki's goal in Elbaph... is learning about the Ancient Weapons. Imu has Uranus, Fish-Man Island has Poseidon.

It's most likely Gaban. We need someone that actually knows shit about Laughtale and the Red Ponys at this point, so it wouldn't make sense storywise to be someone else.
Also if it's Shiki, I doubt that Shanks would allow a walking nuke on his hometurf unless Shiki is completely pacifisted by now

It's happening

Shiki or Loki becoming a mentor figure to Kidd is so interesting to me.

Kidd has never had that, as far as we know:

Luffy had Shanks, Law had Rosinante to stabilize their lives.

Kidd and Shiki bonding over their past failures and anger towards the Roger Pirates/remnants of them would be a really fun/interesting plotline.

Shiki was HUGE on recruiting, like Big Mom and Kaido. He would see Kidd's potential very fast, and try to unlock his CoC further, IMO.

Why am I supposed to be exited about a character if we don’t even know who he is?

This would make much more sense if Oda actually revealed the character but kept the design hidden. Then we might actually be excited for the reveal.

But this is legit expecting us to be excited about someone we know nothing about. Maybe it is Shiki, maybe it’s Gaban, maybe it’s fucking Killer’s dad. If we know nothing about him why should we care?

Perhaps this chapter will drop heavy hints about who this is. But the spoilers suggest that there wasn’t anything outright.
