I don't always agree with Quentin, but I am with him on this one. The first three Toy Story films were all amazing, with Toy Story 3 being the perfect conclusion to the story and one of my favorite movies.

Those two are even worse than unnecessary live action remakes. They are of that droll Disney genre of "What if decades long, consistently portrayed, irredeemably evil villainesses were actually tragic, misunderstood anti-heroes?"

For some reason, Disney just can't allow villainesses to be villainous anymore. They have either got to be misunderstood or flat out retconned to be a level of nice that they never were. It is just more creatively bankrupt, tiresome slop.

I think it made their characters better, gave them more depth made them seem a bit more human, rather than just over dramatic crazy ladies who wanted to kill a princess or eat puppies for no real reason except Greed and Jealousy, knowing how they became who they are only made the original movies even better imo
