@Esc is spitting. Yamato's chances dropped even lower from these spoilers

1. Last chapter we're told that Yamato's freedom was stolen from her by the handcuffs that she's had on for 20 years. Luffy's like, "I'll just take them off" and Yamato goes on about how it's not that simple. You'd think that if she was crew material, Luffy taking off her cuffs would be a significant interaction between the two, Luffy finally freeing her of her hell on Onigashima. Something that would happen further down the line after the two had bonded and for it to serve as a significant straw hat interaction between captain and future crew mate.

That's what you'd think...But nope. Very next chapter they're off. And it's not a big deal, it's literally made into a gag and is just a small addition in the chapter that's heavily outshined by everything with the scabbards and Kanjuro's defeat. No straw hat is getting "fodder" treatment like that.

2. Translation by sandman Luffy: "This decisive battle should be started by them (Red Scabbards), not by us (Luffy and Yamato) !!"

Yamato is someone who just told Luffy her story about being locked up and and abused by Kaido. About how much she loves Oden and that she is in fact "Kozuki Oden". What does Luffy do? Not give a shit. 2 chapters later, when Yamato wants to attack Kaido and have a big moment, Luffy pulls her back and tells her that that's the scabbards moment, not hers. Despite the fact that Kaido is her father and her whole story she just told him. And this is something very natural. Obviously Luffy, and us the readers should care more about the scabbards since they're the true inheritors of Oden's will and have been developed over the past few hundred chapters and further in a backstory. They weren't simply introduced out of nowhere in the last couple of chapters. But with Luffy outright stating that this is the scabbard's moment, not Yamato's or anyone else, very clearly sets out a hierarchy of importance. And there's no way a straw hat is gonna play second fiddle in a plot revolving around their own family, dream and backstory.

Yamato is very angry now that she knows Kaidou actually would kill her, so she won't regard Kaidou as her father anymore. But Luffy stops "Yama-o" (he's using "o", which means man, like he does with Law (Torao) and Kid (Gizao)) and says they are not the one who will officially begin this battle.
Luffy's given Yamato a nickname. Something he's never done for a single one of his crewmates IIRC. And we know that has significance:

Whilst it's not hard proof that she's not joining, it certainly not a good thing that Luffy doesn't even care to remember her name. She's another "Hammock", "Cabbage", "Jaggy".

Didn't see the corpse. Just her falling down in shock, of her heart getting poked, idr a stab through.
Post automatically merged:

It should have been more emotional, we should have had an entire chapter dedicated to the journey and motivation of the handcuffs themselves.
God bless those cuffs, They shall be remembered for all eternity, Merry Meh who cares, It's these exploding Cuffs.

No, because the shackles aren't what she's emotionally tied to, its Oden, his scabbards, and her father... And you tell me I dont know how to read One Piece smh.
Get a grip. You guys have been telling me Yamato dream is to be free and take the see. She's actually asssociated the shackles with the reason she's not free and you're telling it shouldn't have any emotional impact? Trapped her for 20 years?

If Luffy wants to get to Laugh Tale (duh), he’ll lean on Yamato and the book even if it’s to the smallest extent possible. What if the book contains information on where the missing Road Poneglyph was? What if Roger himself moved it to prevent his Yonko competitors from reaching the end of the Grand Line, and Oden noted where they put it? What if there are still unknown obstacles to finding the last island that Yamato alone would know? He doesn’t have to be spoon fed or hold hands all the way, but he still has no fucking clue what he’s doing, and Yamato is literally the best and ONLY person to help him succeed in his own way.
Logically all of that makes sense, Luffy = No Logic and only does things Luffy's way too

No matter what Luffy's MO in regards to his journey has been to not get any help from anyone else, he's already at 2/4 going to get his 3rd road poneglyph as well. There is 0 way IMO that he uses that book, but we will wait and see, also need to see how oda develops Yamato's character as well as it pertains to whether or not she joins luffy, hides away on his ship, and what she is going to bring to the table besides fighting skills.

yamato aint a crewmate yet tho
but very well broken down

Yep, you're not saying anything worth except "wait"
Lmao, exactly, because you turds keep jumping the gun every chapter with your rules and headcannon, even though the character has already, explicitly said she wants to leave with Luffy, not anyone else. She's been waiting for LUFFY. She says this in 983. She wants to leave Wano, she says this in 984.
She wants to leave with Luffy specifically, she says this in 985.

How many chapters do you need for her to spell out the obvious? Like holy shit the denial lmao
