The thing is Macron lost way too many liberal deputies and then was relying on the Rassemblement National to rule with until today. The RN understands that and played it in their advantage. They’re showing their weight in the politics game.

To be optimistic, Lucie Castets could be chosen as prime minister. But Macron would never let the left do anything.


Meanwhile there is a big trial against the head of the Rassemblement National for corruption because they clearly stole a ton of money through the EU parliament. Many of them including Marine LePen should end up being ineligible for a political mandate for 5years (next presidency in 2027). Which could mean that if they come to power before the trial fully ends, they could play some dirty shenanigans to maintain themselves in power.
