Sigh, I keep going back and forth on this shit.

This scene to me really is confusing as fuck on both ends of the argument, but I really feel like its far more justified if its just Shanks.

1. If its a twin, why is he wearing a cloak in Mariejoa (and now again this chapter?) Sure, i get the twin appearance argument, but thats also easily explained by Shanks having dual roles

Also this dude is wearing a white collared shirt under the cloak, just like Shanks:

2. The dialogue also just....doesnt make sense? They ask him why he's there, given his standing. If he's not a dual role God Knight/Pirate, why ask him this if its just his twin whos a God Knight that resides on Mariejoa? Why would a God Knight need to "travel all this way" if they are upper level CDs who clearly deal with CD matters in Mariejoa?

@ArturCantSpeakJapanese super torn on this after really going through this scene again. The red herring is like 3d chess on fan expectations at this point lol, but him actually having a twin complicates this scene completely.

No not Redon, Recon was correct.

:milaugh:

A really underrated Youtuber who makes one piece content and chapters live reactions. He's very genuine and upfront when he gets spoiled by something he tells his viewers right away, but most of the time he stays away from social media before a new chapter drops and goes in fully blind.
Passion is still very much alive :milaugh:as well as the skits. This king recon energy is still the same as it was three years ago
Thats how I remember him, crazy energy.

Can’t this all just be explained with the Gods Knights being on mission elsewhere in the world?

The cloak is something he wears as he is on mission and seeing how he can teleport it’s possible he teleported back to Mariejoa where he had this conversation. No reason to change his clothing if this is the case.

The holy knights didn’t arrive back into Mariejoa until after the reverie which is when the investigation of st. Charlie’s’ death occurred. That’s why they weren’t present when Sabo attacked, likely this was planned by dragon who knows about the god knights.

Maybe it is Shanks after all or LOda is losing it more now than he did in Egghead and Wano combined. Hanging out with Netflix creative executives must be accelerating his brainrot.

Either it's Shanks himself or his clone (that went through accelerated growth).
Oda went too far with the red herring if it is brother, I get that siblings can look very similar but come on now.

I have a bad memory but the only identical siblings I can think off are the quintuplets mermaid, and they still have different haircolors.
That might be the case for some minor characters I can't bothet to remember
I mean Sanji and his siblings have the literal same face
Also we have enough copy paste stuff going on since the begining of the story, like tashihi and kuina being Ctrl v of each other for example

Shonks looking like shanks would be the least surprising thing to me

Mozu and Kiwi from W7
Mermaid Quintuplets
Vinsmoke Quadruplets
Lola and Chiffon charlotte

Just to name a few

Oh okay, yeah. But Oda still added features to their design that made them look distinct to the readers. The guy that visited the gorosei is literally Shanks.

"Given your standing, you should have nothing to do with Politics".

They literally are in charge of Mariejoa politics lol

Its just a weird sentence if this is a twin God Knight and not just Shanks who falls jn both roles.

Not Mozu and Kiwi or Lola and chiffon.

The differentiation for shanks is likely his scar

That’s cause the CDs and Gorosei don’t care about the politics of the world below them. If anything an emperor of the sea with several nations under him would care more about politics than a celestial dragon who views these nations the way we see ant colonies. The Reverie is just for the human nations, no CD actually cares about it because they live in different worlds.
