Bro in one chapter, Yoko Yoko’s strength was compared to Gaimou’s and he was called Han’s strongest warrior by Rakuakan.
Shin calling Yoko Yoko’s strength like Gaimou’s is more reliable than Chougaryuu comparing Bananji and Renpa because Shin fought both characters while Chougaryuu presumably hadn’t.
I think Yoko Yoko doing good is a good sign for Rakua and low budget Moubu
If he's a HK tier martial warrior atleast we can expect those two to pull some stuff too.
You brought up unreliable comparisons to pretend these comparisons were also unreliable, when they are not. You brought up characters who had never seen the characters they were comparing, with Shin who directly fought all the characters he is comparing. Lol
This is just more of you trying to obfuscate what the topic is so you can bail out rather than admitting to the fact this series is rife with dialogue invoking names for effect in comparisons.
Yoko Yoko being on par with Gai Mou martially is about as likely as Ji Aga being on par with Mou Bu. That's it. That's the point. The fact you want to act brand new to these comparisons is down to you wanting to believe it, just like you want to believe Gyou'un was someone he wasn't.
Shin did not "pretty much" consider the two equals. Reading comprehension is key.
The crux of the issue is that your arguments are pretty much always based on fragments you excise out of context, and once they're put back in that context in a way you can't get around by muddying the waters with tangential arguments over everything but the substance of the original argument, you disengage entirely.
It's why you ran away from this argument (among many others). You'd rather eat a gun than concede the point.
Shin engaged JKR 1v1 for only a handful of seconds. Ga Ro got pushed out almost immediately and didn't manage to cut back in until the Archer Bros started blasting. Shin was targeted and swarmed by multiple opps in between those things happening. And, again, while this was happening, Shin still had to worry about others and ecaping.
The fact JKR managed to engage him even briefly without losing his life was considered an impressive feat FOR JKR by the HSU soldiers, but this is nothing new. We've always seen weaker warriors clashing and engaging against decidedly much stronger warriors, and for much longer periods of time. Some examples beside the obvious ones involving Hou Ken below.
Feego King/Danto VS BNJ
CGR VS Shin
A Kou VS BNJ (BEFORE Gyou'un gets involved)
Go Ba VS Ba Jio
Kei Sha VS Shin
And the most clear example of them all: Shin VS Gai Mou
When Shin got some help from the Archer Bros, he damn nearly killed JKR with a single blow. He did this kind of damage on a MISS.
Why exactly? You just convinced yourself of this with literally no rhyme or reason. You convinced yourself Sou’Ou’s perception of Moubu is as reliable as Shin’s opinion of characters he directly fought.

Oh wait a minute, but I am the one hiding from your rebuttals right? Lol
In your weed-poisoned mind, Shin’s opinion on two characters he directly fought is just as credible as Sou’Ou’s opinion on Moubu? That makes perfect sense to you? Lmfao
idk if you can call it a lack of feats when he spent like 6 chapters beating Shin's ass. He had him on the ropes longer than Hou Ken did, and Shin was nerfed to hell in that battle.
I regard Sen To'Un quite highly though and I think he'll be a STR 95-96, just a shade or two weaker than non-suicidal Earl Shi.
Seika dudes will be interesting, especially Kan Saro, but I'm also curious about characters that haven't had stats yet that still might get them - like Kou, who's laughably only just now become a 100M Commander.
That reminds me, idk who the credit belongs to but we've had a new omake translated and it's pretty complimentary of him.
Vol 74 said:
Short Summary
Rei congratulates Kou on his promotion and Kou says his mom would be amazed by it. Rei tells him that the unit is strong and he would reap the benefits even though he's weak. Kou laughs it off.
Narrator states that Kou is not weak and his journey began during his first campaign where was useless. He asked Kyou Kai to train him and persisted and kept on training. His level of martial arts has reached such a degree that he can hush his steps and swordsmanship. But when new recruits join they often mistake someone based on their appearance.
3 recruits challenge Kou after thinking Kou is a weak 100 man commander. Kou accepts reluctantly and proceeds to beat 2 of them with sticks and knees the third guy in the face. A crowd gathers and I think they challenge him again or it's the crowd that says another one. Kou is seen checking up on them. While Rei congratulates kou for kicking ass.
Narrator: the 100 man unit under Kou agreed that Kou was stoic and merciless thus no one messes with him.

I said that Buddha has feats but lacks portrayal. His feats were stunningly good, he looks far better than any Seika general martially and leagues above Kochou's other commanders. But he's just some guy who was sitting in the capital. Meanwhile Gyou'un was a legend from the past age who recognized Ouki's glaive instantly and Bananji terrorized the Xiongnu

My bad, but wouldn't you say Buddha's feats translate into portrayal? He got to show his whole bag of tricks: strenght, agility (Vanishing Step), hand-to-hand, mace fighting, and swordsmanship. Hara hasn't really given anyone else that kind of runway since Kan Mei.
It might be parsing it too thinly for your tastes but I make a distinction between hype and portrayal. In terms of hype, Gyou'un is indisputably #1 and he very likely could've been stronger in his prime (he was pretty much retired for 12 years at Shukai).
While BNJ made his bones with the Xiongnu, I put it to you that being part of the highly anticipated Kantan elites we heard so much about all the way back before Shukai trumps BNJ's hype from serving at Ganmon, no?
I like to think BNJ really has that second gear, and if he does, I'm not doubting it would be enough to get the job done, but as it stands, Buddha - as far I'm concerned - has at least the feats and portrayal over both.
