The colored manga coloring his blade black was a W for them, but it’s important remember that the colored manga isn’t any more canon than the anime. The colored manga also gets designs wrong sometimes, such as them giving Jupiter having blonde hair in the colored manga even though the latest volume cover proved he had white hair. Many GB fans are popping the champagne too early imo. We need to wait until a volume cover or official drawing from Oda himself depicts it as black, or until Oda makes a statement about it being a Kokuto or not. It could still just be a brown, wooden blade imo
Kuma canonically has brown hair, but it's drawn as black in the manga... The point is that Oda is wildly inconsistent with this stuff and that if the sword was any color than black or white, Oda would arbitrarily pick to shade it as either black or white based on what looks cooler with the rest of the black-and-white design of the character

Lmao. It’s a black or white manga. It can only be drawn as black or white. If it was a brown blade, it would be drawn as black in the manga. We need to wait for the Admiral volume cover to know for sure
schizo-chan, swords in this manga only come in 2 colors - white and black.
Swords aren't multicolor like clothes and hair, which cannot be represented by only 2 colors.
Try to wrap your little brain around it.
You are welcome to post a sword in the manga that ever was any other color besides white and black, and somehow represented by an opposite color or something.

There's no such thing as a wooden brown sword that has a hamon, schizo.
Nor would it makes sense for a WOODS man to carry a wood sword, retard. Does Kizaru carry a light sword? Does Kuzan carry an ice sword?
Especially by cutting a hole in his pants.
I'm one of Admiral fans who is willing to not give much crap if it's not a black blade, as long as it's a Supreme Grade.
Even though it's more interesting if it's a black blade, bc that means Oda's gonna make his CoA the strongest among Admirals ( while he gives Fuji strongest CoO, Kuzan Garp punching strength, Kizaru barrier coa defense )
It's gonna be an L for me only if it's not a BB nor a Supreme Grade, so a non-black Great Grade.
But as it stands this is very unlikely, the #1 most likely option = it's a BB whether it's a Supreme or Great Grade one.
The #2nd most likely is, it's a non-black Supreme just like Fuji's.

The reason I think it's not as big a W as they're making it out to be, is because despite all their efforts to prove otherwise, it's still a W for Mihawk. It just means that he has a blade that's even stronger than ANOTHER black blade, and that he himself is stronger than Aramaki as well.
It's not really a win for them against the sword fandom, when you consider that.
But it is very impressive outside of that.
I don't see it like that.
- Black Blade
- 12 Supreme Grade
- 21 very good grade
- 50 grade blades
- 60s something normal blades.
Among black blades Supreme Grade Black Blade > Great Grade Black Blade > Skillful Grade Black Blade
This might be true.
Like
Yoru > Shusui , as Yoru is the strongest Sword confirmed.
But to even reach that level you have to surpass the barrier of 12 supreme grade.
Because A 12 supreme grade might break in an attack but shusui won't.
Shusui > 12 supreme grades btw.
Just read any shonen manga tbh. This stuff all gets inflated. At one point even a basic Sharingan was supposed to be rare at one point, let alone the MS or Rinnegan lol. Mihawk being the only one with a black blade would be kind of weird, so Greenbull can have one(maybe he can fight cross guild or Sanji could fight his own black blade guy)

There´s barely any characters who care about the ¨art¨ of swordsmanship in universe lol. Greenbull isn´t known for much yet, but we now know he has no history in the marines and wasn´t involved with anything like that, so he would have the time to develop a black blade(similar to Mihawk who has no crew or anything, he just focuses on his sword). I think it makes sense
The only new thing I learned from this thread is that Queen’s hair is black in manga but blond in anime. Not saying GB’s black blade is not black but what the fuck is Oda trynna pull with this weird ass BW shading with Queen
What's wrong with that? I don't see anything wrong with rating him as the strongest Marine ever, let alone currently alive
I mean it's just between him and Prime Garp, picking either is fine.
Though i personally pick Akainu cuz i'm quite underwhelmed by Garp's Hachinosu performance
● didn't knock out a single Commander
● Kuzan can give him a run for his money in fist fighting, while having a massive power up ( Hie Awakening ) that he didn't use
Meanwhile Garp showed his strongest attack and didn't KO Pizzaro
Just like nobody commented on Fuji's Supreme Grade in the entire 102 chapters of DR?
Which hype did Fuji get in all these years for his swordsmanship, At least before the Supreme Grade reveal?
Kuzan never used his fists to fight in Long Ring Long Land, Marineford, or any other little bits where he appeared ( end of PH, encounter with BBP )
You're talking about a character which only has appearance in a mere 3 chapters

You're either a new member doesn't know about that thread but it was used as fact.
Debate is up there whether he is the strongest or not.
But it ain't a fact.
Worst example.
Bro atleast carries a sword , uses the sword all the time.
Aramaki pretends he doesn't even have one.
Zoro showed interest to fight Fujitora but none in the land of samurai recognised a Master swordsman with black blade.

Bruh , people pretend like aokiji Fist are some real deal.
Named attack + Ice enchanted + CoA barely matched no named CoA punch of garp.
That ain't shit.
It was obvious he was gonna use punches or kick if not Ice power. That goes for everyone in the verse who ain't carrying a weapon already.
