The prison system eats too many resources that could be used for the benefit of society. More equality and happier people => less crime.
That's what crime prevention should look like.
Modern prisons are a multimillion dollar industry that only exists for profit, just like the poison industry uhm sorry the agricultural and pharma industry.

Through death penalty we only seek blood. It's not justice, it's murder. Those who really seek justice also understand that while rapist and active pedophiles did horrible things, they are also influenced by systems that uncompass the entire population.
In other word, killing those guy is just a way not to look at ourselves and pounder the question "What if I could be influenced to do those type of things to". Because spoiler, you are, WE ALL are as men. That's the point of patriarchy.
So fighting patriarchy is understanding that actions are created because of the choices under the influences of a system. So by targetting a life and essentializing the guy to his horrible action, we are :
1. Preventing anyone from targetting the right problem. Since carceralism and death sentences are literally opposite to feminism and anticapitalistic fights
2. We suppress a life that could be turned around through a better system just because we want revenge.
In short, this is a bad solution.
