If push come to shove, dying would not be 100% necessary, just like Garp's case. Even though, dying would surely be way more dramatic and would have a far bigger plot induced effect overall.

However, I think BB vs Shanks, BBP vs RHP, Is bound to happen, both because of their own plot and for the effects that this fight would have on us.
Without this, I really don't see how the BBP could be the final (pirate) hurdle their are meant to be. Especially with Kuzan out of the equation.
Not to mention, Teach personally doesn't have the hype to be above "even" Kaido now, let alone Roger.

Bro, Shanks good friend(the guy who abandoned his son) literally pointed a gun at a retreating ship and Shanks noticed but didn't stop him. Him protecting fodder is the same as any other Yonko, how strong is the average beast pirates you think?

Because he trusted Yasopp. IMO he probably assumed Yasopp was just going to destroy their flag, clearly Shanks didn’t think this would destroy the ship.

Shanks crew is literally stated to be too weak to survive in the new world and shanks defends them. Don’t try to compare that to the other yonko.

Shanks and Yasopp have been on the same crew for like 20 years now. You really think he doesn't know the type of guy he is yet? Lmao. Also, Kaido literally took in Page 1 and Ulti when they were young because their father died. Who cares? Yonko want pirates to fly under their flag

Yeah he does. Yasopp ain’t blood thirsty like that plus we know barto survived this which means there’s likely other shit at play here.

The deadbeat tried to kill them after they were let go. If they survive or not is a different question. Same with Dorry and Broggy sinking the Kidd pirates ship after they surrendered. Shanks, like his cousin Doflamingo loves talking about the next generation, but hates actually dealing with them. And characters like Loki will specifically talk about how Shanks is a chicken. It's all in the writing.

Yeah I doubt Yasopp meant to kill them.

Dory and Brogy aren’t Shanks’ crew mates, Kid got what invaders in Elbaf deserve according to Elbaf law.

Was seeing anything about the SH giving Yasopp PTSD for when he abandoned his child to hang out with Luffy? He literally said actions have a price to be paid. Kidd never invaded Elbaf. Kidd was shot at by Shanks fleet. And then Shanks said they should either give up their poneglyphs or fight him. Shanks then knocked out Kidd and Killer, afterwards his crew surrendered and offered their poneglyphs, and one of Shanks allies sank their ship.

Kid was literally pointing a weapon at Elbafs land and planning on invading. That’s on them they were the villains.

Must be hard for you after Zoro's opponents got dogwalked last 2 arcs, King looking like a mosquito next to Greenbull, and then in Egghead Zoro being stuck with Lucci after all your crying and whining asking for Kizaru, the real threat on the island. Naturally Goofy takes the spotlight and there's nothing you can do about it but keep crying with more delusions

Like usual admiral agenda is nothing but lies and cope twerkbull flexed on defeated characters recovering on their bed
On egghead you clowns were screaming for Luffy vs Kizaru instead he spent most of time crying on the floor never had any real fight that is much bigger L. Gorosei were real threat so even in arc dedicated to admiral spotlight is always stolen, when given opportunity they always fail to deliver. Considering everything egghead was quite decent arc for marimo.
