He resents Oden because he himself couldn't inspire Yamato. If you want to be a certain type of person, and fail, so your offspring starts idolizing those you failed to equal, wouldn't you be a bit resentful too?

I think the reason Loki was recruited is likely due to Saturn’s death.

With the death of Saturn, Garling became a gorosei and Pranks likely became supreme commander.

This means there is a spot open amongst the holy knights. Somebody will need to fill that spot. I think the best choice is Enel. Doffy exists but he basically crashed and burned. He also just isn’t particularly special in terms of strength, unlike Loki who has a bounty higher than pre-wano Teach.

Ultimately, the holy knights, being CDs, should have a higher standard of recruitment than Cipher Pol/marines. Doesn’t mean every HK is above the admirals, but they are at least surely harder to get into than those other factions. Born CDs have privilege and might not be that strong. But a recruit should be low top tier bare minimum.

Also, Kaido was willing to give Luffy and Law a chance after they attacked his business partner. But he never had any interest in working with Oden, who literally knows where laughtale is. I just think Oda was being inconsistent here....

Well I get that,but I think at the end of the day the person who it makes sense to be obsessed with Oden and stuff about people being born to boil is Orochi because of his resentment or whatever, but Kaidos obsession/resentment should be with Roger or Garp. Would make more sense imo
