Ridiculous writing by Oda here.

This showcases the Celestial Dragons LIKE taking advantage of the weakest people; IMO, Pranks kidnapped Ginny because of his father's failure at God Valley, and the desire to destroy anything related to it.
This series is incapable of making important characters not related to royalty, so, I firmly believed we'll learn Kidd has important origins in the future. This is my madcap theory:
-Kidd's mother was the Princess of Kutsukku Island
-When the kingdom could no longer pay the Tribute, Kidd's mother was impregnated by Pranks, but not taken, as she tried to fight back (like Kidd would)

I'd personally like to see Kidd and Loki vs Pranks in the end of Elbaph, but, I'm fine with them getting their own fights, too. Bonney and Kidd vs Pranks would also be very fun to read.
