What character(s) do you think should be completely redone and what would you do differently to make them better?

My choice is Tashigi, all she's ever been is smokers partner and someone Zoro to have sexual tension with everytime they meet up but she could be so much more

First I'd expand more on her back story and reasoning for wanting to collect 12 supreme grade blades, give her ties to wano, make her actually related to Kuina, maybe her father was the former WSS and Mihawk killed him, something to make her more interesting and her goal something that's worth rooting for

Speaking of her goal if she ever wishes to accomplish such a feat that would mean becoming powerful enough to defeat powerful swordsman, she's severely lacking I would of made her actually competent and strong not saying she has to ne super strong early on but I would of made her and Zoro actually rivals relative in terms of strength, skill and Haki not only would this give Zoro an actual rival and someone he can grow with but it would also give her some growth and make her growing strong enough to take the named blades more believable

Also I think it would be cool if she had a sword that was on the same tier as Enma by now

I also would give her a devil fruit not cause it would make her story or characterization better I just like devil fruits and they're my favorite aspect of one piece

๐Ÿค”what fruit would fit her best tho, ooo I'd give her a liquid mercury devil fruit that allows her to liquify her body then harden it into different weapons or shields or even armor

Chobro. I'd keep his interactions strictly to the powerhouses of the crew & Heavy Point is his OG

Dunno if this counts as an overhaul, but I'd completely switch Vergo & Trebol

Vergo would be the best benefactor to Doffy. Honestly, Trebol was the worst choice (maybe Pika:milaugh:)

Trebol being partnered w/ Monet (older Sugar) & Caesars overseer would be funny

Luffy & Law v. Doffy & Vergo sounds much cooler imo

There's way too many characters that need this.
1) Zoro: remove him from SHs. His character been ruined ever since the nothing happened moment.
2) BM: remove hunger pang bullshit and remove her from Wano arc.
3) Smoker: he suffers heavily from fujitora's existence. Make him achieve his goal thru a diff way.

There's a few other characters I'm forgetting I think. I just highlighted some major issues, can't really give out an entire rework of the character tho

She was surely a very interesting and cool character, my favorite female character introduced after the timeskip. She and Sugar should indeed have been onscreen together and their sisterly relation explored and used properly.

It's just not the same tbh. As one piece is a battle Shonen, for young boys/teenagers women just simply aren't going to have as good of a role as fighters tbh

I think it's cause the pool of make characters is much more vast so while their is a fair share a male characters that get the burnt end of the stick a bunch of them are incredibly written and flushed out characters with actual dreams and stakes

Meanwhile there's only a handful of female characters with any kind of relevance to the story, or with any kind of actual characterization in fact there's probably less than 10 female characters that actually feel like they'll play an important role, Oda couldn't even slip a female into the which one of them will get the one piece panel

Quite a lot of good options already described here! I will add the ones I feel most strongly about.

Big Mom. Make her as menacing as she seemed during her FI introduction.
Hunger craze and mommy mode meant to downplay her strength were a big let down to me.
I would like an affably evil scheming powerhouse instead of a crazed matron not making any sense.

Sanji. Tone down the perviness, it was never funny. Can't wait for him to get laid till almost death by snu-snu so that he chills a bit. Make him develop advanced observation haki/future sight, it's supposed to be his specialty and for some reason only the golden boi Luffy gets it. I mean, imagine how cool Sanji's fights could be with a bit of a future sight, especially since he's the one who is described as a smart one, not just powerful.

Yamato. Make her admire Oden, not try to impersonate him. Just a small change, but would be such a vast improvement!

Tashigi - for the love of God, make her competent and really standing out as Zoro's friendly rival toward the WSS goal. Just like Luffy has Koby, let Zoro have someone who grows with him. Ideally, also has encounters and challenges him throughout the story. If Tashigi had some cool feats and in the end still was defeated by Zoro, it would be more impactful imo.

I would also like to see Robin to be more of a threat to her enemies. Really loved her destroying Black Maria back then. Although, as a smart person, she doesn't even necessarily need to power thru her fights, she can be very strategic in her fights, having an amazing area of control with her limbs spawning everywhere and distracting the opponent.

Gosh, Oda really cannot handle his female characters well, can he?
