Holy Knights are Knights though, but if you want to draw a line, the marines serve the WG while the HKs and the Gorosei don't as they're the leaders of the WG, so they don't technically count as the military in the same sense as the Marines.

These panels are from a decade before the HK were introduced to the story (and probably even thought of) and at the time implied not even the navy could deal with Doflamingo, which is absurd unless there are "political" strings protecting him in the underworld.

Probably true. I don’t really think they cared about a bunch of slaves. The Gorosei would have done something about it if that was the case and we know how strong they are. I don’t think they care about any CDs outside their own bloodlines and the Figarlands, though.

Oda already called Garling very strong in the same Q&A where he revealed Akainu’s bounty. He became the next Gorosei. He is in a tier that is potentially above Yonko

Doflamingo could tell the admiral the blackmail he knows. Yes, it´s retarded that Oda introduced these characters in 2022, but their portrayal is basically the same it was a decade ago. They are irrelevant. We know this because when the revolutionaries attack the holy land, Garling is nowhere to be found, only showing up to execute a fodder celestial dragon for ¨protecting scum¨. For whatever reason, he was not at all worried about Fujitora openly helping the revolutionaries. When Kuma attacks the holy land, he is again, nowhere to be seen. When the Egghead incident happens and Vegapunk is revealing highly classified WG secrets, all the Gorosei decide to go themselves. No one even suggests bringing Garling and the Holy knights or even considers it for a second.

He literally killed a guy for preventing the capture of Shirahoshi. He is clearly angry and personally offended that this situation would happen. Why would he not give a shit about a fishmen(considered a lower race) freeing Thousands of slaves and starting a fire? Again, if Garling is busy doing something else, let me know. It´s certainly not dealing with any of the celestial dragons historical enemies like the will of D clan, Bucaneers, Lunarians and Literally Joyboy returning.....
