No, why did he warn Whitebeard about Blackbeard so early? At the time the guy had no bounty or anything. Even Whitebeard didn´t really understand why Shanks was trying to warn him. And of course, Shanks´s prediction was entirely correct. If Whitebeard listened to him there would be no marineford war.

You think Blackbeard as a YC3 under Whitebeard didn’t even have a bounty?

Not addressed the point either. Wounded Blackbeard was less than a second away from Shanks at Marineford. If BB is such a profound threat, he did nothing to act on it when it would have been an easy kill. More likely that Shanks is paid by the World Government in peace for his subordinates in exchange for helping them maintain the world order.

It´s a fact though. Kuma is asked by Moria if Blackbeard had a bounty before becoming a warlord and said no. That is a good theory by the way

There's something special about Teach. He's different from other villains because he gets underestimated heavily and pay the price for it. It's what happened with Whitebeard and Ace, they heavily underestimated Teach.

Agreed. Shanks is the only person who saw his rise coming, maybe Luffy also had an idea. The Gorosei for some reason were okay with him becoming a warlord, I don´t know if they knew about his ¨special heritage¨ at the time. Maybe Oda even did

I was wrong about the bounty yeah, I assumed that things in the story would be consistent.
Chopper had a bounty as a pet so the fact that a man who put the scar on Shanks’ face doesn’t have one is just funny.

Yeah he said he didn’t let his guard down, I think the implication was that Teach did something really dirty showing that he was a seriously messed up dude. Potentially hostage taking etc
