King won't be able to destroy Whole Cake Island with fire, because instead of burning it, he would caramelize it and make it harder.
Proof: Oven exists. Sweets are not burning/melting. The Tamatebako Box was an exception because it was quite a condensed explosion. Also it has to had an effect in order to create stakes from a writing PoV.

How would he hurt King enough to defeat him? Im sorry but he hasn’t shown the ability to do that. What makes matters worse for Katakuri, King can spam aerial fire attacks, forcing him to use future sight, exhausting his haki; because if you didn’t know, mochi is weak against fire. Won’t be an extreme diff rather mid. Bad matchup
Yakimochi exists. Aslong Katakuri isn't standing in fire for a few minutes he should be fine. Grilled Mochi is still Mochi.
And even in melted form he should still be able to utilize the logia properties.

I’m no one foot soldier buddy. Katakuri is not beating king. He’s not tanking any fire related attack. You’re insane if you think otherwise. If Katakuri gets close, he could just explode point blank. If I remember correctly, his future sight is connected to how calm he is. Hmm king has ann ability to affect his df, sounds like he would be agitated too.
No way a guy that struggled with G4 Luffy, that got one shot by kaido, would beat King; a guy that both Kaido & BM holds in high regard. I swear some of you guys have really bad takes.

Didnt someone in the BMP have seastone bullets or weapons? If it wasnt shown they are still by far the most likely yonko crew to have it with BMs great connections. Have Katakuri stall King and then have a couple of others take him down with seastone. We saw the difference Flampe made against Luffy.

Katakuri gassed out after fighting 11 hours using future sight the whole time, and for a few hours he fought with a hole in his stomach.
Why would future sight not help? Every single one of king’s attacks has been dodged by zoro, I see no reason why katakuri couldn’t do the same.
And as far as fire goes, the first attack luffy uses on katakuri is red hawk and it does not show to have any effect on his mochi.
Even if you think kaido is the braidead one is still makes no sense for the story.
