Well she is family now isn't she.
Sure, still a foreigner

I am particularly harsh on Vance for quoting the Saints on this topic because, while true he has utterly failed to live by it. He got famous off a book he wrote spiting those same kin and, in that same spirit married out of it

Elab? I don't know the guy so well. But I agree with him that Indian girls are hot.

Elaborate on the topic, please.
What Vance was quoting from St. Augustine entails something about our obligations to each other that common sense would find clear enough: give to your family, then kin, then country. In that order

Vance says but does not do. He gave the good of marriage to someone outside his kin, far outside it and if you read his book Hillbilly Elegy, it was done out of spite towards his own people

Clearly, if he met her, they became friends and then fell in love, at that point she meant much more to him than any random white woman around the city. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a Christian marrying a foreigner, if anything you should have questioned his marriage to a non-Christian and that would have made more sense. But it worked out decently for him and he did convert after becoming a father, perhaps it wouldn't have happened with another woman.

faith with political bogus
JD is making a political statement. He is saying we have obligations towards kin but he has failed in such obligations as evident towards his disdain for whites and white culture by his book, Hillbilly Elegy, and for marrying outside the race/culture

As far as I know goes to mass with him every Sunday, I hope she will convert as well
So he recently became Catholic? That's good. I do hope him and her wife are saved

But he can't preach about obligations towards kin and countrymen as if he didn't marry someone completely foreign to his country and his race

I don't know what he wrote in his book, but the ordo amoris seem to be about closeness rather than blood. If I get to know a foreign woman and grow closer to her than I am to other white women, of course I'd rather marry her. At the same time, I may feel closer to women here than I am to random foreign women living abroad.

I don't know what he wrote in his book
It's a manifesto more than a book, really. And within it you can see why he married as he did and it wasn't just a coincidence

Closeness is an effect with several causes, of which blood is one of them. This is a natural and good thing

Right but don't we choose who we become close with?

Vance chose to become close with someone of a completely foreign culture, with a foreign religion and of a foreign race, let's just call it what it is. And if you read Hillbilly Elegy you will see how inorganic and deliberate it was

Feel free to post some parts from the book if you feel like.

Anyway we often don't choose whom we become close to, most of the time you just meet people, like in school or at work, unless you are suggesting that we actively avoid non-whites but that doesn't seem very Christian.

No it's not a sin

Look, I'm just going to end the conversation here, ideologically we don't align here. You either see the importance of race/culture and the preservation of it or you don't.

I honestly thought the attacks on constitutionnal rights in the US would take at least a year...

It took less than 2 weeks.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I underestimated the gravity of the rise of fascism in the US. I'm so sorry for what some of you will have to live through..

Cool, same citizenship

Different race
Different religion
Different culture
Different history

How do you interpret this quote as some sort of a statement against interracial marriage
It's just the general sentiment, I'm not making an exact interpretion here

"d then you love your neighbour and then you love your community and then you love your fellow citizens in your own country"

And then he chooses to marry and inculcate himself into a community far estranged from his own
