Oda is a fan of classical battle shounen, huge one obviously being Dragonball but he also likes Naruto, is friend with kishimoto and so on, like he is a shounen fan
Now obviously I didn't read every battle shounen ever published in jump in existence but i can't remember one instance where the following, or something similar, doesn't happen;
>The MC dad gets gassed
>Is often not there, dead, or some other stuff
>Enters the main story to face a major villain alongside or instead the MC
>Jobs
And given how straight oda is writing at the core I'm so confident I would bet on this playing out the same way in one piece, dragons strength doesn't matter here

Dragon probably might job, but if it happens, it will be to Imu who makes top tiers kneel before him. Before that, we will see him take down a top tier I believe (maybe Garling or some other Gorosei or Akainu).
I don't remember Bleach too well at this point, but wasn't Isshin one of the strongest captains?
Dude pushed base Aizen more than every other captain, and jobbed to transformed Aizen.
Minato jobbed, but it was to Madara, who was just straight up destroying everyone else.
And it isn't a clear cut pattern either.
Raizen was strongest character ever (by a mile too), while he wasn't Yusuke's "actual father", he was treated as it.

If EoS Sanji ends up being close to Luffy and Zoro, that's cool ig? If he actually lives up to it
Most Zoro fans primarily just have issues with Sanji stans who actively think Sanji is a bum fodder (compared to Luffy and co.), and want to desperately drag Zoro into being a bummer fodder too over their insecurities.

He was introduced during pre TS just like Mihawk and Dragon. The way the story is going I wouldn't be surprised if he is reintroduced as someone strong enough to go up against any of the Yonko, admirals, HK, Gorosei, or any other top tier or legend back in his prime.

At the end of the day, Rayleigh would still win a fight against him, and that's what really matters.
This just means that the gap between the three isn't as big as we thought, but it's still generally correct that Roger beats Rayleigh, and Rayleigh beats Gaban.

Of course. Zoro fans didn't want Rayleigh to be compared to Gaban. But do you know why?
It's because most Sanji fans didn't really want Gaban to be strong. They just wanted Rayleigh to be a bum. So both Rayleigh and Gaban can be bums compared to Roger at same time lol

I don't interact with this community much, but this topic is the same no matter what. IIRC I did talk briefly with [No Name], and even they were just using early spoilers to say, "THIS MEANS LUFFY >>>> ZORO >~ Sanji"
