Toei added Sanji in just to laugh at him in marine power scaling. He was never in that novel.

What a perceptive young man. Nice catch! At first it's an unpretentious and funny scene, but only in a vacuum. Just look through Toei's history for a few minutes and you'll come to the conclusion that some people there made it their mission to make Sanji the eternal butt of the joke.

People that dislike Sanji just aren't paying attention to the story. Post time skip Sanji is THE straw-hat. His focus, development, and hype dwarf all the others. Zoro got a little hype during Roof Piece but Oda rectified that really quick after he saw the fans reaction. He is not interested in Zoro anymore and doesn't want you to bee either. After Thriller Bark he had no place to take the character.

I thought so too in the beginning. I believe that in the end Germa(ichiji and Reiju) will join the final war because of Sanji.

We’ve seen the Roger Pirates interact, and we’ve seen Roger’s goodbye to them. Shanks got special treatment with his mysterious crying after Laugh Tale, Ray got special treatment by being the one Roger personally spoke to before leaving. We also saw throughout that Ray is the one Roger is closest to, the only one who doesn’t call him captain, his right hand man etc.

While Roger and Gaban barely spoke to each other and Gaban really got nothing other than a quick mention that he’s stronger than Ray.

Sanji has top tier martial arts, strategic acumen, tactical competence, Haki, super speed, super durability, Air Walk (flight), Blue Walk, invisibility and fire based abilities.
