All those things aside.
Is it me or One Piece's quality kinda improved ? no more wasting time, characters are getting introduced one by one, it's moving fast.
Is it just an illusion ?

Lol yet zoro was luffys equal on whiskey peak…
Just cause there was a small parallel of dory and bright hunting doesn’t equate to sanji and zoro but that was also 9 sagas and 20+ arcs ago.
sanji has clearly been portrayed & showcased to be much weaker than zoro, never forget zoro was on rooftop Sanji wasn’t, Sanji needed 2 powerups vs a YC2 meanwhile zoro was half dead and only needed a hormone shot on borrowed time to clear a YC1 that seemed to be immovable…

Idk how you can’t see the irony of using Little Garden to establish Zoro = Sanji but then disregard Whiskey Peak’s establishment of Luffy = Zoro lmao
It’s a clear as day dynamic that has been explicitly spelled out in this very chapter
Zoro is often implied and/or shown to be relative to Luffy, and Sanji is often implied and/or shown to be relative to Zoro
Even in fights, Luffy gets by far the strongest opponent but has a leaps and bounds more difficult fight
If it wasn’t obvious before, it sure as hell is now. Roger, Rayleigh and Gaban are viewed as relative to each other and Oda went out of his way to hammer in the fact that Luffy, Zoro and Sanji are their modern day equivalents
