Character Discussion As a neutral, Sanji is far more impressive than Zoro

Everyone in One Piece is carried by genes to some extent.

The manga told us Gaep and Kuzan were “all about hard work,” but even then….

Kuzan is 10 feet tall. He has a logia.
Garp is 9 feet tall. He has COC.

Yes they worked hard, but it’s like saying Chris Bumstead worked harder than the other Mr. O candidates, when the reality is they all worked hard and CBum came out at the top thanks to genetics.
Cbum worked hard though, dedication on another level
Same for Ronnie, no one outworked him even with the best genetics, because the moment he starts slacking he loses everything

Zoro dedicated his life since he was 3 doing all this training, was a pirate hunter with a lot of experience, spent 2 years sweating it with the most stoic man in the verse, keeps getting sword upgardes etc

:zorothink:

Meanwhile Sanji cooks great food and still beats enemies as strong as the one's Zoro fights, with 0 training.

:sanjismug:

Harsh reality for Marimo enjoyers

Are you saying Sanji is cooler for being genetically blessed than Zoro who puts in hard work to keep up with him?
You do you, but I like hard working people more

Since when did talent become the opposite of impressive? Hardwork vs gifted animanga conversations have really fried your brains lol because irl: talent is usually the most impressive thing there is.

Yes, Sanji has had more things gifted to him because of his genetics but that's that lol. Just shows he's a multitalented dude who can keep up with some of the most hardworking people because he's talented and that's more impressive to some people then so be it.

This is the same thing in football where people piss me off with this take. They say what Ronaldo did is more impressive than what Messi has done because Messi had more talent and apparently no hardwork. That's a retarded take. Yes, Messi was more talented but you don't become the GOAT without also putting in more hardwork than 99.99% of footballers no matter how much talent you have. Same way Ronaldo doesn't become a t3 footballer ever (though nowhere close to Messi) with just hardwork and no talent. It's time to admit both are products of obscene amounts of both hardwork and talent

Same thing here. Regardless of genetics, Sanji could just end up fodder like his brothers. He doesn't become this strong without training. Sanji has put in a lot of training too. And Zoro is gifted too (literally is Ryuma's descendant). This freak lifts 1000 kg barbells with his legs while doing handstand pushups. Sorry but you just don't do that without being genetically gifted.

Like Messi and Ronaldo, Sanji and Zoro are also products of obscene amount of both hardwork and being gifted. Only difference is Zoro leans more towards hardwork and Sanji's strength comes more due to "talent".

now this is what we call neutral opinion lol
unlike the thread creator here

Every top tier in this series is a product of hard work, talent and luck. Zoro works hard but he's also a descendant of Ryuma, born with COC and had the luck of training with the WSS; Sanji trained under Zeff for years, mastering black leg style, he is also a genetically modified human with weird fire powers; Luffy trained all his life but is a D. who ate the Nika fruit and was trained by the right hand of Roger; Kaido battled like a maniac earning his stripes, but he's also an Oni, born with COC who ate a mythical dragon fruit; Big mom a born destroyer, with COC who ate a powerful fruit; the Admirals trained to become weapons then given powerful logia fruits etc etc. Mr Nobody from nowhereville being top tier is not a concept that exists in this story.

Sanji's strength definitely not coming more towards talent.

Man was deemed a failure by Judge but he compensated his lack of talent by hard work and sweats. I do agree that Sanji does have some talent in him but his hardwork outweights his talent.

P.S. Sanji is Messi btw.
