Regarding Zoro, I'm not going to give my opinion yet, but in no way does it leave him in a bad light. There are two possible interpretations.
That Gaban doesn't see himself capable of fighting him. Or that he has felt the new gentlemen. Which still doesn't hurt Zoro, but Luffy doesn't get rid of being weaker and needing to use the G5 AGAIN.

How many times has Goffy used the G5? 8236729349120912212 times.

Base Luffy dodged it fine, Zoro blocking a slash doesn't change that.

Man One Piece fans are lucky Oda likes Law and Luffy being buddies because if those two were to fight you know Oda would be gassing Law the fuck up

Law and Kid awakened their devil fruits before Luffy.

They also defeated a Yonko before Luffy.

Luffy needed to "die" in order to awaken his devil fruit.

Finally defeated a Yonko after said Yonko fought with multiple other characters.

Gaban was fighting base Luffy
No G4 , no G5
He gives up once Luffy uses G5 cause he doesn't wanna fight g5

He then goes on to acknowledge Luffy's strength and hypes Loki again

All I can take away from this is g5 + zoro needed to defeat Gaban
