He's obviously doing it intentionally though. Oda knows what's up. You can bet that he knows that everything around CoC is and will always be a big topic of debate within the community. All these silhouette teases, all that hybrid form hiding stuff and such, it's all intentional.
Everything will be clear as day, when all those guys get their all out main fights during the post Laugh tale final war arc and some perhaps even before.
Up until then that man is going to tease the shit out of each and every detail via dubious drawing.

There's no haki on Kuzan's fist period in the shot before the clash, but there clearly is in the clash.

He's inconsistent with it. There several instances during Luffy vs Kaido where Luffy's ACoC attacks don't begin with a Haki trail, but the sparks appeared after the moment of contact. He tends to skip the trail depending on how much is going on in the panel.

One other example is White Star Gun. No haki trail in the prep for the attack, but CoC lightning on the moment of contact. There's no specific indicator sometimes other than when you see the large Haki lightning when the attack hits.

Not only WSG: no G5 attack has the trail, ever.

Both will end up with the physical strength of Garp but the one has the focus on his devil fruit while the other on his haki...

You are comparing other scenes that hadn't anything to do with the one in which Kuzan was.
Not to mention, the one Koby-Garp was yeah, the same, because it was the same technique: the Impact.

In their interaction, Kuzan and Garp had the same exact visuals and the haki explosion was quite telling:

It's acoc but unclear is it from Garp only or both.

Whatever it is it's win win situation for Aokiji :

1. It's acoc from both meaning Aokiji have acoc

2. It's just from Garp meaning Aokiji armament haki + devil fruit power is equal to acoc attack from Garp a character on Roger level. This is even more impressive than having acoc .

The black intense mark that comes out Garp's back isn't Conquerors,as Law has shown it.

Oda's way to show the intensity of the attack,or maybe a way to show internal damage if you want ...

No, becuase we saw the moment the hit was given.

If It was only Garp, would should have seen the same as, for example, of that Image of Luffy.

Not to mention swords have slightly different effect than punches.
