He could be a amazing character, but he was poorly writed by Oda.
When I heard he was the only one who scared Kaido, give him a scar and was called a monster Samurai, I simple expected to much.
His fight against Kaido was awful, his fightstyle was boring, kinda feelt lackluster.
The move he used against Kaido to cut him feelt so underwhelming while look what Zoro pull for moves with his swordskills or what Mihawk pulled out.

All he had was physical power and endurance, I wished to see more variety of skills, similar what the autor did with Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Breath style. would explain why Kinemon was able to cut even fire. Giving Oden variety of skills based on breath/haki, unique one.

But all he had was"look at my sword, I gonna now cut simple". It was very boring and bad, I like Elbaph skills(dorry and brogy) as example far better. Oda waste his chance to make the samurai look really unique in the end. At least Oden, his Scabbards been okay.

I think the haki stored in Emma just ran out by the time zoro fought King.

Thar's what I believe too. I really hope Zoro and Oda are done with Oden and his lame ass.

Yeah Oden's fighting style is by far the most boring as far as top tiers go
All of his named moves are literally a different variation of charging at the enemy lol
I don't think he even showed a flying slash or anything like this.
