I don't think Oda hates Kid, and if I'm being honest I think him getting obliterated by Shanks was fine for the narrative- it shows how much higher the story's stakes were getting and also showcased Shanks' power after a thousand chapters of very little onscreen feats. And it's super obvious that Kid will make a comeback.

What do you mean? He's been very consistent and fair with the way he treats Kidd.
You could argue some characters suffered from a downgrade such as post TS Usopp and Chopper.
But Kidd, absolutely not, on the contrary Oda has most likely given him way more than he intended to when he first introduced him.

Oda has gone to hate really masculine characters seemingly. Both law and Sanji got similar amounts of love by Oda and thus way extra story roles and development but Oda neglected Kidd and Zoro HARD. Oda even admitted he expected Kidd to be way more popular and planned him to bw far more important.

It's likely similar to how Toriyama views Vegeta. He saw him as just a jackass who he liked humiliating every once and a while.
While Goku gets SSJ and beats Freiza, Vegeta gains it and gets beat up by android 18. Though unlike Kidd, Vegeta got super popular and there was a lot of fan pressure about him.
Anyway, I don't think Oda hates him. He gave Kidd a super cool DF, showed him genuinely caring about his crew, made him one of the few who didn't bend to Kaido despite torture and gave him the supreme king Haki. How many characters can claim that?
