Yeah but Shai has the better team, Joker is a better player and much more important to the Nuggets. Joker is single-handedly making the Nuggets a contender and they‘re now in the semis down their previous head coach. He’s doing everything, clearly the best player in the world right now (even during the regular season).

Giving it to the best player of the best team of the season isn't stupid at all. MVP is here to honor the man who made the best season, not the man who is in himself the best player.

I think Nuggets or Warriors (if they somehow hold off without Steph rn) coming out of the west is good tv. We need at least one lovable superstar in there… Joker or Steph fits the bill. Knicks or Indiana coming out of the east will be refreshing. Celtics is still the only scary team though so they should come out for ratings.
