Funny thing is Kakashi is one of my favorites and I don’t specifically like Kabuto that much(plus I like to annoy TAC)

lol, its not like it was some big fight, Naruto just got to use his Rasengan on him. Plus based on Narutos power at that point, all that you would need to hype is that he's above Neji for Kabuto to feel like a serious threat, but comparing him to Kakashi who was the strongest non Sanin Jonin is obviously very good hype

Tbh Kishi does this fun thing where he has Kisame react to several Akatsuki deaths and I think it’s a reflection of how Kishi sees them;

Kisame doesn’t have much respect for the Zombie Duo, treats their deaths as amusing more than anything.

Kisame seems disappointed in Deidara and directly praises his strength.

Kisame is actually surprised that someone could take down Orochimaru and holds no criticisms for Orochimaru

Yep. Always thought it were subtle hints to Kishi's scaling, that's why I also use the statement with Jiraiya. It started way before the TS.

I remember Sasori or another Akatsuki also said something along the lines of they always wanted to be the ones to kill Orochi which again puts him at a pedestal.
