I don’t get why Obito didn’t just help Kisame capture Bee instead of doing their convoluted plan of having a White Zetsu sub in for Kisame, have Samehada pretend to betray Kisame while the real Kisame hides in Samehada, and then have Kisame gather intel. Wouldn’t it have been better for them to just straight up capture one of the last 2 remaining Bijuu? Naruto wouldn’t have even learned KCM if Bee was captured

My only guess is, Obito didn't think his plan could survive taking on the Alliance without information like that. That eventually, they'd find him or the Gedo Mezo statue before he could find Naruto.
