I think it’s cause the arc focused on him a little too much so it ruined the whole thing. People don’t like when it feels like you’re shoving a character down their throats

Garp, Rayleigh, Whitebeard, and Gaban feel more natural

I’m a bit mixed when it comes to Sengoku though. He’s a drone

Sengoku I think has a lot of potential. He just hasn’t really had a chance to really show his character yet.
