I think Blackbeard is and always has been the planned final villain. He is he foil to Luffy, not Imu, who was a foil to Joyboy, and possibly the original Nika.
Imu represents the opposite of Luffys ideals Blackbeard is just a twisted version of Luffys ideology.

Blackbeard will go down first so Luffy can become the freest in the seas then Imu will go down to complete Luffys secret dream
I mean Imu is literally ultimate oppression vs ultimate freedom in Luffy.
Yes, and we know already know Rocks already tried to take his spot.

Does it therefore seem pretty telegraphed to you Blackbeard will succeed where Rocks failed?

Catarina touched Saturn, that presumably meant she could assume his appearance and help the BBP infiltrate the Holyland, which may be exactly what is happening right now. It seems likely since Saturn is dead and the window on using his appearance should be closing if it isn't already closed.

I don't think there's any chance Blackbeard doesn't fail in killing Imu for his third and final DF, the "strongest" Zoan to match his "strongest" Logia and Paramecia and secure his position on the Empty Throne.

Oda has built up Blackbeard for decades. His iconic introduction made it clear he was in inextricably linked to Luffy.
Would be lame end for imu
What if Luffy fights Blackbeard and Nika appears and fights Imu?

Disagree. I think FS will awaken during the BBP's fight and the aCoC + Black flames will be the same PU against an Admiral.
Very possible, but I think Elbaph will be a fair lengthy arc, and we're witnessing the opening salvos of the prophesied "Great War" for the fate of the Third World. I expect a max of 2-3 PUs before the war is over.

I think black CoC-infused flames will be Sanji's final power up after he achieves Future Sight and CoC, which I believe will awaken concurrently if CoC is indeed a base component of it.

I mean Imu is literally ultimate oppression vs ultimate freedom in Luffy.
As much as Blackbeard is a villain, his ideals also stand for freedom. Both Luffy and BB are simply two sides of the same coin. Meanwhile, Imu and the WG are the complete contrast to what Luffy is aiming towards. They just want to control, oppress, control and control.

What if Luffy fights Blackbeard and Nika appears and fights Imu?
Like Stands?

I mean we barely knew him/her
Which is why it should seem obvious he's not meant to be the final villain.

Egghead and the Harley lore made one thing clear above all - what has happened before will happen again.

The world of One Piece as we know it is the Third World. Its fate will decided between Luffy and Blackbeard.
