I don't understand Oda's writing, spared Gaban from being negged by Imu only for him to be blitzed and neg diffed by Gunko.
Gunko showed the difference b/w Gaban's speed and that's of her

Gaban would make Imu look bad, she is reserved for the new gen

Fujishiro

Just chilling
I don't think it would be cheap at all. I think would be a perfectly fitting twist, because we know Blackbeard wasn't the first to challenge Imu. Before Teach, there was Rocks.

I think Blackbeard use Catarina to infilitrate the Holyland, kill Imu and take his DF, which may or may not be the Earth God DF.

However, I don't think Imu will be completely gone from the story. If his DF is a Zoan and Zoans are imprinted with a soul of their own, I believe BB will carry a part of Imu with him.
The way I see it is BB pulling a MF 2.0 not facing Imu directly.

There can't possibly come a bigger threat to the crew than the supposed FV, have a hard time seeing Elbaf last long unless this is a tease for Imu's power which will turn out to be irrelevant for the arcs plot.

Come on, Akainu is out there chopping out limbs with ease, i think they are not in the same level as of now. But perhaps magma and flames are not comparable at all? Magma is a physical substance (melted rock) while flames are going to do mostly internal damage?

Anyway, im looking out for Sanji ripping off his enemies limbs in the future like Akainu (he did with Queen tho)
Science is a relevant theme in One Piece. Oda made a deliberate choice in Ifrit being hotter than magma, and that shouldn't surprise you because it's heat isn't possible with Sanji's exoskeleton or Aramament Haki alone - only the two combined allow him to tolerate the strain of it.

As for how Ifrit would do against magma - I happen to think Sanji is well versed to fight Akainu in particular, even if it's too early now.
