His plan is to intentionally lose this fight too lol. Kisame is no idiot and is comfortable taking on far stronger Shinobi than Jiraiya. They retreated because Itachi wanted to retreat.

Yes, he called off because of Anbu because Kakashi, Gai, Kurenai, and Asuma were not really a deterrent. This is because Kisame wouldn't believe any of those guys were stronger then Itachi. This isn't true for Jiraiya, who Kisame does view as above Itachi, despite Kisame knowing about all of Itachi's accomplishments and hype. We can't just say Itachi is telling a white lie when his literal partner backs up his claim.

It doesn't really matter how close Jiraiya was to figuring out his secret, Pain is only really worried about Jiraiya figuring it out because he doesn't think anyone else in the leaf can do anything to him if they figure it out. He has a god complex and believes himself to be close to invincible.

Kishi is only having these Akatsuki guys hype up Jiraiya as a threat because that's the narrative, simple as. Jiraiya exists in the story to be someone strong enough to protect Naruto from the Akatsuki. They don't ever hype up any other leaf ninjas really, not even someone super strong like Kakashi.

The naked eye can't see a lot of things. I mean, hell, we can't even see the speed of sound, let alone light. He's not saying you need to move at light speed for invisible movement. Just that light speed is capable of doing so. Also, the only people Sanji was invisible to were Oven and Queen, who are FAR below top tiers like Kizaru in speed. And you're not convincing me that Sanji can disappear in front of Kizaru either.

No.

Tobirama was flawed but he had some good sense. Even putting the Uchiha in charge of the police force was intended as a sign of good faith.

He had the judgment to appoint Hiruzen as his successor. I don't think he'd approve of Danzou, but I think he would respect his devotion.

He lucky Minato didn't find about his bitchass allowing his son to be hated and mistreated. If I were in Minato's shoes, fuck a Shinobi World War, he the last only for his kid to be treated like that? :suresure: Some elder abuse would've been committed that day.
