The whole York subplot was kind of dumb and honestly I woulda liked it if she stayed as a random gooner character like most female side characters in this series
Because the traitor thing failed horribly imo
It barely had any true buildup to it and it also just made no fucking sense because when you really think about it she had a life most people would die for on Egghead and still tried to give it up for what's probably an inferior life style anyway
Like she had all the food she could ever want and no other obligations other than just doing basic human necessities like eating, shitting and sleeping. Any ordinary man or woman would sell their soul to get a chance to just lay around all day, eat great food, sleep, and play games or watch shows for the rest of their lives. All without even getting fat either.

Jinbe was incredibly hyped then immediately got relegated a TR fight along with Robin and Franky.

Now again in Elbaf Jinbe got relegated to getting the equal treatment of Brook while Oda separated the monster trio for later use.

There is no danger to the monster trio, there never was. Jinbe was always going to end up narratively and enemy power wise closer to the mid trio than the monster trio cause that’s just odas typical writing structure. The pushing of Jinbe to that level is why he gets clowned cause he doesn’t really do anything

I'm arguing that it's more about perception than it is reality

Is Jinbei an actual threat to Sanji? No, just like Sanji isn't an actual threat to Zoro

That isn't how the fandom perceives it though. Zoro fans clown Sanji because they feel threatened by him

Just like Sanji fans clown Jinbei because they feel threatened by him

Additionally, she gets taken out rather unceremoniously with zero fanfare and then spends the rest of the arc basically being a Gorosei cheerleader.

York absolutely had the building blocks to be a great villain, but she's a lot of hot air in actual execution. Very much the same situation as Kaido.

I to this day think it was a mistake to Bring the gorosei into egghead

York, Lucci and Kizaru would of been enough to make it interesting and if York having control over seraphim that group would of been dangerous

And you're right I dont like how York as off screened either
