It's not just that I believe that, it's consistent with how most democrats have conducted foreign policy since Clinton. Furthermore, Obama gave us the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump got rid of in 2018. I hate Obama, but if he wanted war with Iran so badly then why even make that deal in the first place?

If you look at recent events, then I am quite confident Israel had been a pawn to US in this.
US regardless of which political ideology forms the government, always saw Iran Nuclear program a massive threat.
If you look into recent events - shadow war in the middle East, deal with Yemen, Trump pressuring Iran for nuclear deal and Trump previously saying to stirke nuclear sites in Iran if deal is not done, it's clear Israel struck Iran with green signal from Trump beforehand.
The act of aggression from Israel come across as an act done both by US and Israel to coerce Iran into submission to have nuclear deal the way US wants.
A non nuclear Iran favors the West, Israel, and even some Arab nations.
Trump recent comment' further reflects that he will use force to put pressure on Iran to have a deal......
Having that said, Iran has every right to defend against this.
