I think he's said to be around 63 years old? He was born around when big mom was 5 years old and she was in elbaf? So he's 21 in human years?

Shanks would have recognised his potential and thus how much of a literally bigger threat he could still be over time, once he truly hits his prime.
I hope we see some of Shanks vs Loki but given Odas track record that seems extremely unlikely unfortunately.

It's a pipe dream but I legit hope that Loki was Shanks' Kaido/WB, an absolute monster who took the efforts of his entire crew + him (at the time) to be brought down.

Also regarding giants the issue is that most of them are "fodder" or "mook" types. Oda like many authors keeps having them mowed down as part of The Worf Effect so they look bad even if they're supposed to be dangerous.

Where are we at in the volume? That could tell us a bit more about how the flashback will be structured
