Teach already beat a YC and a supernova pre TS
Post Ts he beat Law the warlord, and kind of Hancock
At this point he´s packing 1 yonko(Shanks) and an Admiral(Kizaru).
Of the Yonko, I don´t think I need to explain why he would kill Shanks over Luffy or Buggy
Of the admirals:
Fujitora=Presumably will be fleet admiral eos. Still has too little screentime
Aramaki=Evil, will fight a major good guy character because of this
Akainu= Him fighting Teach instead of Luffy would just be odd
Kuzan=Would just be ridiculous situation, and it´s to late for Kuzan to randomly change sides
Kizaru meanwhile, had his development and even fed Luffy. The idea of him fighting a SHP after that is just odd

Mihawk is the best at swordsmanship. Shanks is good at swordsmanship, but he clearly has other strengths:
All of Mihawk’s feats are about swordsmanship, he cuts icebergs effortlessly.
Most of Shanks’s feats are haki feats that have little to nothing to do with swordsmanship.
Being a swordsman and having other skills isn’t mutually exclusive.
