I mean Xebec subordinated Roger’s rival Whitebeard, Roger’s other rival Shiki, Shiki’s rival Silver Axe, and required Roger and Roger’s other rival Garp alongside Roger’s equals Rayleigh and Gaban to take him down.

It’s almost like Roger isn’t special at all and every top tier was rivals with him, meanwhile Xebec had no equals and had multiple Roger rivals as his subordinates. I mean yeah, Xebec is him. Dude laid eyes on Imu and destroyed the fucking Gates of Justice, this dude is the father of all modern pirates.

After the portrayal in this chapter it’s almost certain that Xebec at a bare minimum lost a 1v2 to Roger and Garp… when they were both older than current Shanks

Thank goodness Teach is actually taking a different approach than his dad, and is not a shitty copy.

Xebec took the rough path to pave way towards Imu with strength and ultimately lost.

Teach read up on history and vowed to not fall in the same mistakes even if it paints him as a cowardly neckbeard; now trying to outsmart and strike Imcel when he least expect it.

Teach borrowed Xebec's objective, but the methods will be Gigabeard-exclusive.

Sorry but the methods are kinda lame lol, the Rock pirates just feel way more imposing than the current BBP.

Teach has been staying true to his character since the moment he was introduced in ch. 223, "you don't have to use your fists to show your might" and I would rather not get Teach's personality randomly changed like how Roger of the one hundred equals became.

I really hope Silver Axe is an admiral undercover because it'd make sense why he is a rival to Shiki - a powerful top tier.

I guess Oda really brought Shiki and Zephyr back to the canon source because Silver Axe might be Oda's Zephyr version. Wasn't Zephyr known to be a complete haki monster? I think Silver Axe might be the canon version of Zephyr.

Teach tried to recruit Ace before they fought, him recruiting the other top pirates would’ve been in character too

Garp wanted to prove his fist was harder than Chinjaos nail. It was basically a human battleship bag. There was no CoC in the clash.

In Roger’s era the seas were run by Roger Whitebeard and Shiki. These three fought one another countless times throughout the 24 years between Roger’s death and Xebecs defeat. Modern day Yonko wouldn’t have been able to compete seeing how Big Mom couldn’t and even Kaido had to try and kill old Whitebeard when Whitebeard was fighting the marines.

I guess we'll find out soon.
