Men aren't allowed to stay on Amazon Lily so it's plausible that Luffy was taken off the island by Dragon after being born and Tritoma stayed behind for some reason, but since she was separated from Dragon she eventually died a few years later.

Though I find it hard to believe that Oda would essentially SBS diff Luffy's mother, that kind of treatment only happens to side characters like Zoro or Kidd.

Tbh even if her connection IS Dragon and she DID have Luffy, its possible being forced to give him up and Dragon continuing to be a Revolutionary could have still caused that.
