Only two ppl so far in the story has scarred kaido, oden and zoro & if kaido indeed ends up clashing or fighting roger hell even if he gets one shotted it means prime advcoc roger couldn’t scar teenage pre df kaido which is sad.
While oden did against a stronger version
And zoro did against a stronger hybrid version with 30 broken bones
Roger might be the weakest link for the swordsman fr not oden 👀

He cant even do what Shiryu did.
He is on the bottom of the top, he is the entry level for the top people.
Yes, Roger's performance is consistently bad.
From failing to 1-shot Oden to failing to 1-shot Garp, despite clean hits on both to failing to leave a scar on DF-less Kaido.
And for a Conqueror to be conquered by Kuja #2 is cherry on top of it all.

Of course Shiryu wouldnt do better based on what we have seen so far from him. You know the Roger slander is mostly trolling. Scaling pirate fights on raw strength alone is never the point. But the point is that both managed to land a hit on Garp and the effect of one was shown more serious. These guys are not super durable beings like Kaido and King, Garp got his chest slashed by Morgan, Roger was beheaded by fodders. There is no point for the author to put Iron Garp in the fodder dialogue if it is not to show that damaging Garp was very difficult until that point. You should go re read the fight and see how many times the weakening is shown via dialogue from fodders and Aokiji and how many times Garp has been shown holding his stomach.
Heres a quick fight recap for you:
Aokiji and Garp start fighting, Garp slams Aokiji into oblivion (Chap 1081)
Garp is destroying BBPs (Wolf, Vasco and fodder etc.) (Chap 1087)
Garp and co are preparing to leave when Aokiji gets back on the scene
Coby gets baited and Garp gets stabbed as a result
Even fodders can see that Iron Garp is weakened to which Aokiji says that if all limbs were tied up the fodders still couldnt kill Garp
Weakened Garp gets the equal clash against Aokiji
Garp makes the plan and gets back up, Aokiji again stands in the way and asks where Garp is going with those wounds
Garp blasts Aokiji away and attacks Pizzaro then falls to the ground
Aokiji is shown standing over frozen Garp
After getting stabbed, in almost all sequences Garp is shown holding his stomach and blood is dripping.
As for Shiryu getting a bloody lip after getting slammed is not the looking like crap the fandom (mostly copers) are painting it out to be. And at the end of fight Shiryu looks completely fine standing over Garp. Would you rather have Shiryu not getting damaged at all and how would this look for Aokiji. On one hand you have Aokiji who get slammed into oblivion by Garp and Garp took no damage from him and on the other you have Shiryu who gravely wounded Garp and took no damage. The portrayal would be night and day between Shiryu and Aokiji. This is the least Oda could do to save Garp and Aokiji face.
