Randomly watching Kensuke's Kingdom on TV, a very sad, extremely beautiful, picturesque and nuanced film.
It also has Freaky Peaky Blinders and Oppen Heimer Style himself Cillian Murphy and Ken Watanabe in it! Given a certain plot reveal too, it feels a little ironic to have Cillian in it.
Based on a novel and it's immensely Studio Ghibli style, I really cannot recommend it enough.
I predicted a twist but the story and voice acting are very good anyway, it's a profound film with a lot of heart and an easy watch. Gets quite upsetting in places but there are so many wonderful, sweet, endearing, powerful moments.
I also just watched Renfield before it and that was way better than I expected. Too OTT on the gore and violence but brilliant acting and writing, especially from Nicolas Cage in his element as Dracula and thus some of his best work and some of the other cast were great especially Renfield too.
2 brilliant films back to back, completely different to one another in every way but emotionally nourishing and challenging.
Should probably post this in the last movie you watched thread but eh fuck it.
I've not got much energy due to certain IRL problems/drama so I will be a lot less active and responsive than usual anyway.
Feeling very defeated and exhausted due to my family as usual. Just praying I can move house one day and almost permanently escape their bullshit.
BRUH, I NEVER EXPECTED ONE OF MY FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD COMICS TO GET A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE ON IT NOW:
Will of Dennis the Menace incoming lmao.
