He was butthurt about the betrayal. Would be wierd for him to act like that if he betrayed. He most likely got his shit kicked in by ray or Roger and was left to die. And meme gave him the fruit to save him.

I think maybe he saw the betrayal while he was laying on the battlefield like a retard.
